Serving businesses in Clinton County

The Chamber of Commerce offers a wide array of benefits to our members that help to strengthen businesses in Clinton County. We are an advocate for area businesses, assist with business development, connect businesses through our monthly Economic Network Alliance meetings and offer robust Member Discounts.

Business Advocacy

The Wilmington-Clinton County Chamber of Commerce works as an advocate for the community on economic development and legislative issues. As the leading voice for both large and small businesses in our community, the Chamber is playing an active role in Clinton County’s redevelopment efforts, working hand in hand with City and County officials to market and promote the Wilmington Air Park and other industrial sites, as well as the Wilmington historic downtown and other business throughout Clinton County.

The Chamber regularly meets and collaborates with local, state, and national public officials. We actively work to connect our members with elected officials to make sure they maintain strong relationships with our representatives. The Chamber also provides assistance to businesses seeking to access the support of state and federal grants.

Ultimately, we believe that the strength of the Chamber’s efforts to advocate for businesses is based on the involvement of our members. Each week, we send out a “Weekly Briefing” e-mail to our members highlighting key legislative and economic development issues that impact our local businesses.

Business Development

We believe that one of the most important economic development strategies for our community is to help our members grow and create new jobs. The Chamber works hand-in-hand with local economic development leaders to help our members get access to the information and resources they need. If your business is looking to expand your workforce, or if you’re worried about the future, let us know how we can be of service. We also provide support and guidance to entrepreneurs working to create new businesses in the community. We’re here to help ease the weight during the early stages of development so that entrepreneurs can focus on building a business that thrives and grows.

Don’t hesitate to let us know how we can help you connect with these local economic development leaders:

  • Clinton County Port Authority – Dan Evers, Executive Director
  • Clinton County Regional Planning Commission – Taylor Stuckert, Executive Director
  • Clinton County Economic Development – Brett Dixon, County Administrator

The Chamber promotes the development of its members through its support of business development organizations:
Weekly Briefing. Each week, the Chamber sends out a members-only Weekly Briefing aimed at getting practical information to our members to help them make informed decisions. The e-mails provide analysis of key local, state, and national public policy issues, economic data and indicators, and news about local businesses and events, all in a once a week e-mail package.
