Learn more about Education in Clinton County

In Clinton County we are proud to work. With our deep agricultural roots, getting up early and working late to support our families is the foundation of our community. With exceptional technical and higher educational institutions in Clinton County, and with many more within a sixty mile drive of Wilmington, we have matched this tradition of hard work with the skills required to meet the needs of global aerospace, health care, manufacturing, and agricultural companies in our community.

Companies considering adding to their workforce should contact Tammy Istvan or Stephanie Finley at Ohio Means Jobs Clinton County for more information on an incentive program to pay for partial wages during a new hire’s training period. Reimbursement is 50% of starting wage for a training period of up to 6 months. The paper work is easy! Just be sure to contact our workforce development team before you hire for all the information. If you see a dislocated worker from the area and this individual needs a skills upgrade prior to hiring, we may be able to pay the costs associated with the needed training.

The 2015 TANF Summer Youth Program will run from May 1st through October 31st. Employers who are hiring one or more youth that are approved for the program participation by Clinton County Job & Family Services will be reimbursed 100% of wages not to exceed $10.00 per hour, plus FICA and workers compensation premiums. Please contact Stephanie for more information.

Based upon a well-established career plan, we are able to use any school approved under the Federal Higher Education Act (HEA). This includes schools like Southern State Community College, Great Oaks, Sinclair Community College, and University of Cincinnati Clermont. Preference is given to Ohio schools first but based on capacity and cost, we may contract with private or out-of state schools. For more information on which schools and programs are or could be approved for use, please see the Eligible Training Provider Website at https://ohiomeansjobs.com/etpo/.
